History

It's Fort Concho National Historic Landmark's largest annual fundraiser.  Three days full of Christmas fun all on the historic fort grounds, 630 South Oakes, in San Angelo.

The 6:00 p.m. meeting will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church fellowship hall, 3536 YMCA Drive, in San Angelo.

Hey that's a lot of candles!

The march will begin at 9:30 am at the Dr. King Monument in MLK Park, 2121 Martin Luther King Drive, in San Angelo.

The meeting starts at 2:00 pm at the SPJST Hall, in Rowena, Texas.

VFW Fort Concho Post 1815 will stage the event at 125 South Browning Street, in San Angelo at 3 pm Saturday.

It all starts at 8 am, with a cowboy breakfast in the Barracks 5-6 Courtyard on Henry O. Flipper Street, in San Angelo.  A $10.00 donation is suggested.  Reservations are recommended.

I don't play golf but I know a lot of you do.  So, you may enjoy this bit of golfing trivia.

Here's a chance for kids ages eight thru fourteen to dig into their past and make a chart of their family.

Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is actually celebrated on June 19th. It commemorates the date in 1865 when many slaves in Texas learned they had been freed by the Emancipation Proclamation.  The San Angelo Juneteeth celebration starts on Saturday.
