Nothing hurts quite like a breakup, but Old Dominion are taking the long view on heartache in their upbeat, bouncy new song, "Never Be Sorry." Even when a love story doesn't end well, the song's lyrics argue, that doesn't mean the relationship wasn't worth it. Press play above to listen to the track, which the band released on Friday (July 26).

"Ending a relationship can be hard & frustrating, but this song reminds you not to forget you loved that person -- and you shouldn't be apologetic for that," the band explained on Twitter. "Forever slips away sometimes, but #neverbesorry for falling love."

"Never Be Sorry" comes out in advance of Old Domionion's self-titled third project, which is due for release in the fall of 2019. The band announced the album's release during a Good Morning America appearance in early July.

The groups's second album, Happy Endings, came out in August of 2017, making for a gap of just over two years between that project and Old Dominion. At CMA Fest 2019, the band admitted that they were just as antsy as their fans to get new music out into the world. "We cannot wait for you to hear it, and I wish we could tell you right now that it's coming out tomorrow," Old Dominion told The Boot and other outlets.

Other songs that the group has shared off of their forthcoming new album include the sunny, optimistic single "Make it Sweet," as well as additional tracks "Some People Do" and "One Man Band." Old Dominion is due to be released on Oct. 25.
