Maren Morris and Brandi Carlile have shared their new collaboration, "Common." The song comes from Morris' forthcoming sophomore album, Girl.

Readers can press play above to hear the studio version of "Common;" Morris and Carlile first shared the song during Morris' set at Carlile's Girls Just Wanna Weekend festival. Morris sings lead on the first verse, while Carlile takes the second, and they harmonize throughout the track; the song focuses on the problems and tough feelings that unite us.

"We got way too much in common / So what's the point in fighting? / We got way too many problems / If I'm being honest ..." goes the chorus of "Common." "Oh, we've got way too much in common / Maybe we forgot it / With everybody talkin' / Ain't nobody listenin' ..."

"Common" is Track No. 5 of 14 on Girl, which is due out on March 8. Morris debuted the project's first single, its title track, in mid-January. The song is Morris' fifth career single; Girl follows her critically acclaimed 2016 studio debut, Hero.

Both Morris and Carlile are nominated multiple times at the 2019 Grammy Awards, which are set to take place on Sunday (Feb. 10). Both are lined up to perform during the ceremony: Carlile will have a solo performance spot, while Morris will be part of a tribute to Dolly Parton.
