Over 1 Million Jeep Vehicles Recalled Over Fire Risk
El Paso Jeep owners beware: A major recall has been issued for more than 1 million Jeep vehicles after reports of a potentially dangerous fire risk, even when the vehicles are turned off! *Gasps in Spanish*
However, don’t panic because it’s not ALL Jeeps, but the FCA US is recalling 1,076,999 model year 2021-2025 Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator vehicles due to an electrical issue that could increase the risk of a fire.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the problem involves the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring, which may have an electrical connection issue that can cause surrounding materials to overheat and potentially ignite.

How To Find Out If Your Jeep Is Impacted
Starting June 11, affected vehicle identification numbers (VINs) and license plates can be searched on NHTSA.gov to determine whether a vehicle is included in the recall.
What makes this recall especially concerning is that fires can occur even when the vehicle is parked and turned off!! Because of this, owners are being urged to park their vehicles outside and away from homes, garages, buildings, and other vehicles until repairs can be completed.

The recall follows an NHTSA investigation that was launched after multiple reports of vehicle fires. The agency says it is aware of 51 fires and one injury that are likely connected to this issue.
According to online reports, a repair solution is still being developed, but the FCA says owners will be notified once a remedy becomes available, with owner notification letters expected to be mailed beginning July 9.
