Check Out These Free School Supply Events Happening Across El Paso
As the new school year gets closer, organizations and businesses across El Paso are stepping up to help families get ready for the first day of class because let’s be honest… it ain’t cheap!
From free backpacks and school supplies to health screenings, haircuts, vendors, and family-friendly activities, there are several back-to-school events happening throughout July.
Many of these events are free to attend, though some giveaways are available only while supplies last or require registration.
KISS-FM Back-to-School Expo
Of course I won’t bury the lead, which is KISS-FM’s annual Back-to-School expo happening Saturday, July 25th at Cielo Vista Mall.
It’s one of El Paso's largest annual back-to-school celebrations with local vendors, fashion shows, prize drawings, giveaways, and family fun. The event is designed to help students head back to school while connecting families with community resources.
Parents can win FREE backpacks, enjoy a fashion show and so much more!
Upper Valley Artist & Farmers Market Back To School Party + Market
Saturday, July 18th 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Upper Valley Artist & Farmers Market
This event will be giving away FREE backpacks filled with school supplies at both locations while supplies last to help local students get ready for the new school year.
FREE haircuts for students (Westside only) for grade school to high schoolers while space is available.
Families can enjoy a fun-filled morning featuring free haircuts, backpack giveaways (while supplies last), food trucks, live DJs, local vendors, and inflatable attractions for the kids.
Backpacks and school supplies are limited, so we encourage families to arrive early.

Friday, July 17 | 6:00 p.m.
The Glamour Grove
This community event will provide free school supplies for students from Head Start through high school. Families can also browse local vendors and enjoy wildlife education activities during the event.
Abundant Church Backpack Giveaway
Saturday, July 19
Abundant Church will be giving away free backpacks at all of its El Paso locations while supplies last.

Consulate General of Mexico School Supply Drive
Sunday, July 27 | 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
910 East San Antonio Ave.
The Consulate General of Mexico will host a community event offering free backpacks, school supplies, and vaccines for eligible families.
Students of all ages may receive free backpacks while supplies last, but you MUST be present to recieve the backpacks.
Families are encouraged to bring vaccination records in order for healthcare providers to review and update immunization schedules as needed.

Many backpack and school supply giveaways are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so families are encouraged to arrive early. Some events may have eligibility requirements or require pre-registration, so it's a good idea to check with each organization before attending.
