San Antonio, Texas, like much of the Texas Triangle has seen a significant amount of growth, and even the more rural areas of Bexar County have been reached with new development. Areas that were relatively quiet and hardly had a passing motorist are now thick with traffic, and many of those vehicles speed through areas at far too high of a speed.

One thing about these more rural parts in urban areas is that it does not take long for drivers to notice a lack of police enforcement, and that allows them to brazenly speed through less populated neighborhoods. Just this weekend, a couple of Mustangs turned around in my cul-de-sac, and literally drag raced down my side street that is posted as 35 miles per hour.

According to this KENS 5 article, the 20 year old man now accused of vehicular manslaughter bonded out of jail after being arrested in his hospital bed following the accident. Sadly, the victim in this accident, 71 year old Patricia Browning - who's SUV was T-boned at approximately 108 miles per hour - did not survive her trip to the hospital.
