The Big Game is Sunday. Right on time, Google released its list of the most Googled dips in each state. Basically, their map shows the most uniquely searched game-day dips by the state in the past week.  By" uniquely searched", they are describing dips that were overrepresented in a state compared to the rest of the country.

For most people, a good dip is a perfect snack for any game. This is especially true if you're serving a lot of people. The vast majority of states pick the usual favorites.

Buffalo chicken dip, which would be my personal favorite, is the favorite in 13 states. Queso dip is tops in 10 states. Two veggie dips reign supreme, spinach and artichoke. There are some odd choices.

For example, fruit dip was the top choice of West Virginia. What game are they watching? In Montana, they searched for a no-bake peanut butter dip.  I think that is called a Reese's Peanut butter cup. Who knows what's going on in Arkansas?  Who ever heard of a "puff pasty spinach dip"?

This brings us to Texas.  Our most uniquely searched dip is corn dip.  What? I have nothing against corn dip. I didn't even know there was such a thing until now.  It just seems a little odd to me. We are a state full of spice and "flava".  Corn dip doesn't sound like that at all.

A little research and I am considering myself "slapped".

Mexican corn dip sounds like an amazing dip.  It might just be the best dip of all. The simple recipe is to melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.  Then, add corn kernels and jalapeño and cook for about 8-10 minutes. Stir in mayo, cotija, cilantro, chili powder, garlic, and lime juice.

I've added a great YouTube recipe from RecipeTin Eats to help guide you to corn dip perfection.

Even when I think my adopted new home state of Texas is going to disappoint me, I always emerge enlightened. Corn dip might just be the best uniquely searched state dip choice of all. I can't wait to whip up a batch and enjoy it.

By the way, did I mention it?  My original home state is West Virginia.
