Whenever I search for answers to the question, do certain colors or makes and models of cars tend to get more tickets in Texas, I get a lot of disclaimers. I guess if I report on this, it must be important.

With that in mind, let's get them out in the open before diving into this story's meat.

The color or type of vehicle is not as important in determining who gets pulled over by law enforcement as the driver's behavior, the condition of the vehicle, and the location and time of day of the traffic stop.  Further, law enforcement personnel are instructed not to allow their personal biases to affect decisions about traffic stops.

Now, having said that, let's get down to the nitty-gritty.

According to Get Jerry, white cars get the most tickets. This is simply because that is the most common color of cars on the roads. Red cars come in second place. Gray and silver round out the third and fourth spots.

I'm relieved.  Maybe my rage orange 2018 Mustang is less inclined to get a ticket. Although I am lucky. I have tried to pass too many cars on the three-lane passing segments out on US 83, going too fast.  I know it's just a matter of time before I get a ticket.

Certain models of cars are also more prone to tickets. According to a 2022 study conducted by Insurify, the top five brands with the most speeding tickets are Audi, Infiniti, Saab, Scion, and Volkswagen.

The cars that get pulled over the least are Fiat. That's probably because if the speed limit is over 40, a Fiat will probably have a hard time going faster.

A much better indicator of whether you will get pulled over tends to be who you are. Men are more likely to get pulled over than women. Young drivers also tend to get more tickets.  In fact, a 2017 study found that one-third of all speeding tickets were issued to drivers between the ages of 16 and 25.

Studies also indicate that minority drivers, particularly African Americans are 20% more likely to be pulled over than white drivers.

It is important to drive safely and concentrate on the road.  Regardless of your car color, make model or age, and description; you will get pulled over if you routinely violate the law.
