(East Texas) It will definitely feel like summer in East Texas this weekend. It's our first full weekend of summer, and temperatures are expected to hover close to the century mark. With so much sunshine and temperatures close to 100°, East Texans will be trying to cool off at a community pool, a splash pad, a waterpark, or at the lake.

If cooling off in water isn't for you, then you'll be seeking refuge in an air-conditioned room. That could be me this weekend, conserving my energy for America's 250th celebration next weekend during the 4th of July. There is going to be so much to do next weekend—parties with family and friends, fireworks shows, and much more.

Some of those July 4 celebrations are happening this weekend.
