Fake Cop Crawls Away Like a Worm in Viral Video

It sounds like something out of a movie, but it happened in Houston—and the internet can’t stop laughing.

A wild YouTube video is going viral after capturing the exact moment a man tried to impersonate a police officer in order to rob a victim outside a store. But instead of a smooth getaway, the whole plan went sideways in seconds.

As the suspect confronted his target, the victim’s wife suddenly burst out of the store with a small handgun and fired in his direction. In the chaos, the would-be robber dropped both his gun and his shoe, sending him into a frantic scramble.

What happened next turned the video into instant meme material: the suspect, apparently injured, started crawling across the ground like a worm, desperately trying to collect his belongings.

And the comments? Absolutely savage:

“The dude crawling on the ground like he was in a burning building.”

“Watching buddy scramble to grab his stuff was straight out of a cartoon.”

“Suspect told his victim to get on the floor, but ended up crawling on the floor instead.”

The clip has already racked up thousands of views and shares, with people calling it one of the funniest robbery fails they’ve ever seen.

Watch the video for yourself and decide: is this the most cartoon-level crime fail Houston has ever seen?
