
Robot Taxis Are Now in Texas – But I’m Not Ready to Let Go of the Wheel
Robot taxis have made their way to Texas, and call me old-fashioned, but I’m just not feeling it.
Now that I think about it, it’s probably not as much about me being old-fashioned as it is me being a control freak with trust issues, especially when it comes to driving. The truth is that I’ve never been big on taxis or Ubers because I don’t know how good the driver is.

But you take the driver away, and my anxiety levels skyrocket. I realize that in theory, human error is eliminated. You don’t have to worry about the driver being distracted by their phone or intoxicated. But still, there’s no way on Earth I could get comfortable in a robot taxi.
But who knows? There may come a time when it’s either take a robot taxi or walk 10 miles, and I figure my best bet is to bite the bullet and grab a ride from a robot and find that I enjoy it. However, I wouldn’t bet money on that.
I know there are many folks out there who are all about embracing every form of technology. If you fall into that category, know that you can now get a ride from a robot the next time you’re in Dallas.
