If you have a smiling animal as your gas station mascot, it's a safe bet Buc-ee's will be suing you.

I'm starting to lose track of all the animal mascots that Buc-ee's has claimed is ripping off their beaver logo. We have had a squirrel, an alligator, and now we can add a moose to the list. Allow me to introduce you to Mickey the Moose over in Ohio.

Mickey's Gas Station Poking Fun at Buc-ee's

Looks like Mickey's has over 40 locations in the Ohio area and they use a logo of smiling moose to advertise their gas station brand. According to Buc-ee's, they believe people are confusing it with their beaver logo. This morning Mickey's poked fun at this lawsuit by explaining the difference between a beaver and a moose.

Both Logos Side by Side

So Buc-ee's lawsuit always stems from the same issue. Do you have a smiling animal mascot within a shape? Well guess what, we will see your butt in court. Buc-ee’s is asking the court to permanently block Mickey’s from using the disputed logos, destroy all related materials, and award treble damages and attorneys’ fees. We will have to wait and see which animal comes out on top.

I don't think anyone on a road trip is getting these two places confused. However, Buc-ee's is opening its first Ohio location in April this year. I guess the beaver is putting its foot down and letting the competition know they're coming. We will see who wins between the beaver and the moose.
