Are Texans the Only Ones with Their Own Vehicle Editions?
"Everything is bigger in Texas." Lots of times, that turns out to be a statement of fact, rather than just a slogan. Our Texas pride is most definitely bigger. We put our Texas flag and Texas mark on what seems like everything. We even put it on our vehicles!
Do Other States Brand Their Vehicles?
Texas is the only state that I know of that has state-specific vehicle models. You can get "Lone Star Edition" or "Texas Edition" trucks anywhere in the state. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely a fan of this. But the only time I've ever seen state-specific vehicles is right here.
Louisiana is known as "The Pelican State", but I have yet to see a "Pelican Edition". Likewise, I haven't seen a "Sunshine Edition" for "The Sunshine State" of Florida. No disrespect for either of those, I just know that I haven't seen it before.

Should Texas Stop with the State-Specific Editions of Vehicles?
If you talk to some people - generally those outside of Texas, or those that are here but are "non-natives" - they'll tell you that Texans go overboard with putting our state mark on as many things as we do.
The question is, though: Should Texas stop putting the flag or state name on our vehicles? Should vehicle editions just be confined to things like "Limited Edition" or "Sports Edition", and be available in all 50 states?
I Say We Leave Things as They Are Currently
Here's my take on the whole thing, and you take it or leave it. You won't hurt my feelings for disagreeing. I actually think that it's pretty cool to see "Texas Edition" and "Lone Star Edition" on vehicles. Yeah, it might make Texans look arrogant at some point, but it also continues to show off our state pride.
