
Last Normandy Battleship You Can Still Tour Is In Texas
While the Battleship Texas undergoes a huge restoration in dry dock in Galveston, tourists can still go inside the ship. It is the last remaining battleship to participate in the invasion of Normandy.
They are coordinating Normandy tours of the battleship this summer. I remember taking tours like this in Galveston when I was a kid.

We would go to SeaWolf Park and see all of the different types of military vessels there. The one thing I remember is that it was super hot and cramped.
Where Is Battleship Texas Now?
It should be pretty easy to keep track of a ship as old as Battleship Texas. In 2022, it was moved from the San Jacinto Battle Monument and Museum to its current spot in the Gulf Copper Shipyard in Galveston.
Tickets are $100 to go on the Normandy Tours May - June 2025, Sundays only. They are working on the $35 million restoration of the ship at other times.

The funds will go directly to the task of updating and fixing the ship. There have already been new areas revealed during the restoration that you can see.
