
Texas Based Home Goods Store Files Bankruptcy, Will Close 26 Stores
Whenever I'm out and about with my darling, sweet mother, something strange happens to her SUV- it inevitably drives us to At Home.
If you've never been to an At Home, it is the perfect place to walk around and browse at things with your mom. It's home decor and home goods, and boy, do they have great prices on rugs.
At Home is a Texas Orginal Company
Like many other iconic brands, At Home started and is still headquartered in Texas. It originally began in Schertz, Texas, as Garden Ridge Pottery in 1979. Since then, it has become At Home and is based in Plano.

However, the headquarters of At Home could soon change, as the company has filed for bankruptcy and will transition ownership of the company to its pool of lenders who are holding more than 95% of the company's debt," according to CNN.
So it will be up to the new owners to decide what happens to At Home.
Why Is At Home Going Bankrupt?
In short: tariffs. The CEO of At Home, Brad Weston, said in a statement, "[At Home is] operating against the backdrop of an increasingly dynamic and rapidly evolving trade environment as we navigate the impact of tariffs."

Is At Home Closing Stores As Part of The Bankruptcy?
Yes. At Home has stated it will close 26 stores, but luckily for Texans, none of the closing stores are in the Lone Star State.
