Texas Troopers Encourage Drivers to Not Break These Laws During the Holidays
My buddy Sergeant Marc Couch is the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Public Information Officer (PIO) right here in West Texas. Sgt. Couch asked me to remind anyone driving anywhere in the Lone Star State this holiday season, to drive safely and please obey all the laws.
While law enforcement is working toward keeping us all safe, I know that they will be concentrating on enforcing ALL the laws. So, please play nice and be safe. Here are some laws we don't want to break this holiday season.

There will be an increase in law enforcement presence on the streets in town and all along the highways and byways around Texas. Not only is the DPS going to be out in full force, but so will all the other State, County, and City law enforcement agencies.
DPS Sergeant Marc Couch says, "In the spirit of the Twelve Days of Christmas, there are 12 most common factors that cause crashes on Texas roadways. Help us #EndtheStreak by keeping these factors in mind to lower the probability of being involved in a crash. Couch also added that there will be an increased enforcement during the holidays, including the actuasl holidays themselves."
DPS Director Steven McCraw says, "Many of us will be traveling and attending holiday parties and for the rest of the year. As you make plans to spread holiday cheer, add safe driving to the top of your list.

As we celebrate this holiday season, I personally want to remind you that there will be an increased law enforcement presence on all Texas roadways. The DPS said that they are increasing their enforcement through January 3rd, 2023.

All law enforcement will be looking for people that have been drinking, on their phones, not wearing their seat belts, speeders, road-rage, and drivers failing to follow the state’s Move Over, Slow Down law, and all the other traffic laws.
