Let me start by clearing something up, "IN MY OPINION" AI is not that annoying robot voice on the other end of the phone. You know the one, press 1 to scream, press 2 to cry, press 5 with the middle finger to share your opinion. That’s not what I’m talking about here.

I’m talking about something different. Something helpful. Something that has turned into my not-so-secret-anymore, it is my friend and companion ChatGPT. If I need to check my spelling, flow, redundancies, punctuation errors, or do research it is there as my sidekick tool. Much like a spell checker only I believe Chat GPT has a college master's degree in English-Language arts.

Now, if you ask my wife, she’ll tell you, “I don’t trust that AI stuff. There are people in the background listening to everything. It’s sneaky.” I just laugh. I tell her, “Honey, it’s no sneakier than that computer remembering your passwords and asking if you really want to delete that email from 2010. OR better yet, all those texts you send and your "Smart Phone” recommends the next word or spelling."

The truth is, This AI is not here to spy. It’s here to save my time and more importantly my sanity.

As a Texas radio broadcaster, I’ve got a super tight schedule, shows to run, events to promote, and multiple articles to write every day. And sometimes, okay, a lot of times, I get stuck. That’s where AI steps in. I ask questions, research, brainstorm headline ideas, fix spelling, flow, and punctuation, and organize my redundant thoughts. It’s like having an all-knowing co-writer an English language arts teacher sitting here with me who never gets tired and never misses a period, comma, or exclamation point (the last one is for content directors), or deadline.

I know WE TEXANS are skeptical. But here's the real deal, the straight-shooter truth. AI doesn’t replace me or you. It amplifies us. Every article I publish still has my heart and soul in it, my voice, my memories, my Texas heart. But ChatGPT helps me shape it faster and better than I could ever be. I even talk to my Chat-GPT I say "Thank you, I love you, wow that's genius" and so on.

And just like that underdog Clydesdale Hank who finally made the team, I feel like I’m doing better work than ever before because I’ve got the right teammate beside me. GPT is like my left-hand man.

So yeah, if you ever read something of mine and think, “Dang, that was smooth,” just know there’s a little AI magic behind it. Not creepy. Just creative, and yes I asked as I always do, "Chat-GPT can you check this article for punctuation, spelling, and flow please, and thank you GPT.".

I have to go now and use my Carbon AI tool for some knowledgeable friendly advice, see you in Texas article land y'all.
