Free Home Repairs For Senior Home Owners

Helping Hands, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Seniors maintain a safe and functional home, is hosting a special application day this Thursday, Dec. 4 from 9 am to 5 pm at their office at 1404 S. Oakes Street. across the street from Armenta's Cafe.Individuals over age 60 may come to the office without an appointment and apply for assistance for needed repairs to their home.  Individuals must own their own home and meet income qualifications, so they are asked to bring a picture ID, copy of the deed to their home, social security award letter, proof of all income, and proof of disability if disabled.

Examples of potential repairs include caulking, painting, grab bars, ADA toilets, flooring, sheetrock repair, dripping faucets, smoke alarms, yard work and clean-up.The work will be done on one day in April, 2015.
