Fort Concho To Put On 2 Western Art Shows
If you are looking to get a mix of culture and history while viewing artistic talent, this is for you.
The first show is called “The Life and Times of Texas Icon, Charles Goodnight,” and it contains 13 paintings depicting the famous cattleman's life.
The show is free, and will be open from 10-4pm Tuesday through Saturday ending at the end of summer. You can find it at the fort’s Barracks 1 Visitor Center.
The second show opens on June 25 and continues through August 2. The American Plains Artists Show is free for the public as well and contains features 68 artists from 18 states with 96 paintings and a dozen sculptures covering a wide range of western themes of the American Great Plains.
This year, all works will be for sale with proceeds benefiting the artist, the American Plains Artists and Fort Concho.
