Entertainer of the Year is the biggest moment of the night at the ACM Awards, recognizing the artist who has made the greatest impact on audiences around the world in the last year. In 2019, for the second year in a row, there is a notable lack of female nominees in the lineup -- a development that has triggered some debate in the country music community.

In 2018, Jason Aldean took home the trophy for the second year in a row; he is back in the running this year, along with some of the biggest and brightest men in the industry. It's been announced ahead of the 2019 ACM Awards that he will be receiving the Dick Clark Artist of the Decade Award, though whether or not he "three-peats" in this category remains to be seen.

Luke Bryan has had a busy year as well, thanks to the success of his latest album, What Makes You Country, and a star-studded tour schedule. Also up for the honor is Kenny Chesney, whose newest project, Songs for the Saints, is a stripped-down homage to the victims of Hurricane Irma; it's been well-received by fans, along with his award-winning collaboration with David Lee Murphy, "Everything's Gonna Be Alright."

Chris Stapleton has racked up numerous awards and nominations in the past year for his album From A Room, Vol. 2 album, and his All-American Road Show Tour is one of the can't-miss events coast-to-coast. The category's final nominee is Keith Urban, who has rocked stages around the world with his Graffiti U Tour, and generated multiple hits off of the album by the same name.
