Concho Valley CARES Coalition to Host YOUth CARES Leadership Camp
The Concho Valley C.A.R.E.S. (Community Action and Resources for Empowerment and Success) Coalition along with the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley (ADACCV) are partnering up for a five-day youth leadership camp in July.
The camp will be held at ADACCV located at 3553 Houston Harte Expressway from July 12th through the 16th. Times for the camp are from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
The camp is intended for upcoming 5th through 7th grade students and is free to attend. The camp will feature special guest speakers, presentations, games and activities.
Focus for the camp will tackle characteristics of a leader, importance of giving back, self-esteem and integrity, how to handle stress, friendships, peer pressure and civic responsibility. The theme for this year's camp is "Superheroes in our Community".
To register, visit the ADACCV web site at www.adaccv.org or call 325-224-3481. Space is limited, so residents are asked to register or reach out with questions as soon as possible. The camp should be a good learning experience for young students.
