Carrie Underwood’s Dog Recovering After Paralysis
Carrie Underwood's dog was completely paralyzed in his hind quarters after suffering a herniated disk before Christmas. In a video, the singer shows Ace going through physical therapy.
Underwood's well-known pup is seen walking in a leg-deep water tank. She gives him encouragement throughout the video, posted on Instagram on Tuesday night (Jan. 3). With rest, she says, Ace will soon get mobility back in his right side.
"His left side is slowly getting better but we have a long way to go," she adds under the post.
Ace is one of two dogs belonging to Underwood and husband Mike Fisher. Penny has also been a favorite of her fans. Recently she shared video of him getting shamed after taking son Isaiah's french toast. The dog didn't seem to mind, as she's licking her lips as she's being scolded. Last fall Ace joined Underwood on the cover of Redbook magazine.
Underwood's Instagram page is a place for fans to get a look into her home life. There are many photos of her family and pets, as well as looks from backstage while she's on the road and off stage, like her recent skydiving adventure. The Grammy-nominated star is taking a break right now. There are no tour dates on her calendar as she just finished the year-long Storyteller tour with Easton Corbin and the Swon Brothers.
At the 2017 Grammy's, "Church Bells" is up for Best Country Solo Performance.
