Boil Water Notice for San Angelo
In what can only be described as another issue for the city, boil water notice has been issued citywide. due to multiple water leaks caused by severe winter weather. Citizens in the areas approved for water usage must boil water before consumption.
This does not apply to those still in the red and white “do-not-use” or “do-not-drink” zones. People are being asked to assist the water utility by lowering their water usage to essential needs only.
Do not use water unless you are using it to drink or cook after you have boiled it. If you are in the PaulAnn area, you are still under a do-not-drink notice. Please do not take baths or showers or use water for any non-life sustaining uses at this time.
Typically you are supposed to drip your faucets to prevent pipes from freezing, however due to low water pressure and supply concerns, we are being asked to refrain from doing this as much as possible so that we can conserve as much water as possible.
Keep your cabinet doors open under your sinks to allow for air to circulate. If your pipes are frozen or if you have a pipe in your house that has burst, please contact a plumber immediately.
This is an unprecedented situation we are dealing with, but we can easily get through this together.
