I'm not going to lie to you, some of you are not going to like what I have to say in this. That's okay, I love that as Americans we have the freedom to speak our minds. This is what I'm feeling as we get closer to the holidays.

We are in the time of year where we are supposed to be kinder to one another. The holiday season is supposed to be the most cheerful time of year, where we reflect on the past year and celebrate with loved ones.

Now, this year is different than we've experienced. COVID seems to have sucked all the joy we should have felt this year. But I refuse to let COVID overtake the holiday season.

Millions are out of work, and even more are scared that it's going to happen to them any day. So right now I ask, please when getting things this holiday season, buy local. Support the local diner that is worried about the next meal. Buy from the local electronic store. The big box stores are going to be fine. The mom and pop shops might not.

I know asking you to do this is a lot, these places might not have the insane deals the big stores have. But these shops need you to support them.

Even if you're not going to buy a PS5, or a new TV, they need the business especially now.

And while we are on the subject of COVID, I know it's against your nature to let people tell you what to do, I get that. But please wear a mask when going into places. We have seen a huge spike in cases these past few weeks and wearing a mask does help prevent the spread.

If surgeons can wear a mask for 8 hours while performing surgery, you can wear a mask for 20 minutes while buying groceries.

We are a community and we need to do our part to make this community better, safer, and stronger.

Have a safe and happy holiday season.
