According to the BBC, legendary actor Sean Connery has passed away at the age of 90.

He was born in Fountainbridge, Edinburg, Scotland on August 25th, 1930.  He worked for a short time as a milkman, but in the late 1940s, at the age of 16, he joined Britain's Royal Navy.  He served as an Able Seamen on the HMS Formidable.

The Scottish actor was probably best known for being the man who first brought iconic spy James Bond to the big screen.  He appear as Bond in seven films.

But, Connery appeared in dozens of other movies including Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade,  Highlander, Murder On The Orient Express, The Hunt For Red October, The Untouchables, and The Rock.

He received numerous awards, including an Oscar for his role in the late 80s gangster movie The Untouchables.  He was knighted by the Queen at Holyrood Palace in 2000.
