Organized by the Frontier Women’s Living History Association as a part of Women’s History Month, the weekend is directed to both living history participants and to people wanting to learn more about the life and times of women in the late 19th century.

Topics include creating a period carry bag, genealogy, etiquette and manners, jewelry of the period, and needlework techniques. At 5 p.m. Saturday, March 11, several sessions will be open to the public at no charge, with talks about frontier legend Lottie Deno, 150 years of Texas forts, and post-Civil War soldiers and Texas Rangers. There will be a bazaar during which guests can purchase books, replica artifacts and materials.

Most sessions will be in Officers’ Quarters 8 at 215 E. Avenue D at Fort Concho, 630 S. Oakes St. For more information, call conference chairwoman Sharon Baird at 325-338-2149 or visit fortconcho.com.
