It’s clear that Will Hoge is enjoying being out on the road with Dierks Bentley and Eli Young Band. The Nashville singer-songwriter is taking part in the Country and Cold Cans Tour with the country talents, dishing up a serving of unfamiliar face with a side of refreshing talent night after night.

As fans are learning, Hoge is serious about his craft — he just released his new album ‘Number Seven,’ to iTunes, and moves crowds with his soulful voice and unmatched musical skill without hesitation. Another thing he’s serious about? Being a whole lot of fun, from the sound of it. While on the road, the ‘Even if It Breaks Your Heart’ writer is taking the time to jot down a recap of his experience in a fun blog, which we’re bringing you straight from the horse’s mouth. Today, Will Hoge writes:

So Friday night the Country and Cold Cans Tour stopped in Mashantucket, CT. I can officially say that city’s name is now my favorite name of any city we’ve ever played. I mean Mash-and-tuck-it?!?!? That’s perfect. Sorry Yakima, but you’re an impressive number 2! The MGM had a right and proper theater set up versus the arena settings we’ve been in every night. It was a KILLER sounding room. It felt sort of like being back home in that we are way more comfortable in theaters – at least we’ve done those more. Fortunately for us now, I think we can claim being comfortable in arenas too…but it took a minute! All the bands sounded and played great. We each had to shorten our sets a bit, but that worked out because it enabled us to get some gambling done before the 1AM bus call. (For those just learning about me and my band – our ‘bus’ is an RV. But we will henceforth refer to it as a ‘bus’ for brevity. Thanks). Fiddlin’ Dan and I both helped pay the casino’s mortgage with some entertaining but desperate Hail Mary blackjack to make the bus on time. Not smart…but fun! We will try again next time. We did discover Jon (Jones) from Eli Young Band’s iPhone left in the parking lot though. As nice road brothers we picked it up, put it on our bus, took a compromising photo or two, and then called his band members and told them we’d deliver it at the next gig. I’ll spare you the photo as I fear the one in the last post may have scarred y’all in some way. Trust me.

Now off to PA for another show. Check back tomorrow!
