Volunteers Needed for Neighborhood Blitz
The City of San Angelo Neighborhood & Family Services Department is seeking volunteer groups to paint the homes of elderly, low-income citizens during the annual Neighborhood Paint Blitz.
This year’s blitz will be Saturday, April 30, 2016. The City has tabbed 33 homes for rehabilitation in the Reagan area as part of its neighborhood revitalization program.
“Those who have volunteered in our Neighborhood Blitz inevitably find it a fulfilling experience helping their neighbors in need,” said Bob Salas, director of the Neighborhood & Family Services Department.
All equipment and supplies, including ladders, paint and rollers, will be provided along with a continental breakfast and a warm lunch.
The optimal number of volunteers per team is 12-15. Individual volunteers are also welcomed and will be placed on an existing team.
