American Idol Season 15 winner Trent Harmon made his debut on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with his first single, "Falling."

The song, written by Keith Urban, Dallas Davidson and Brett James, sits at No. 33 on the chart. As a result, the song earned Harmon Billboard's "hot shot debut" recognition.

"Falling" showcases what Harmon calls "country soul" with his soaring and sultry vocals. The song also landed within the Top 5 best-selling songs on the Top Country Digital Songs chart.

Harmon is already in the studio recording his debut album for Big Machine Records.

"Soul music is in right now and it’s cool to sing, but it’s what comes out of me naturally," Harmon previously told TV Guide. "If I’m singing gospel music, or I’m singing country music, or I’m singing pop music, I sing it soulfully. That’s just how it comes out. So I feel like that’s going to come through on this country album."

Harmon will perform the National Anthem before the Toyota Owners 400 on April 24 at Richmond International Raceway.

"We had the privilege of singing ‘God Bless America’ while filming American Idol," he says in a press release. "It was an amazing feeling and I am very excited and humbled to get the chance to return to the raceway and sing the National Anthem."

Harmon is the headliner to the pre-race ceremony for the event. The festivities will also include a performance of “God Bless America” by the USAF Heritage of America Band, skydivers and a six-plane flyover by the Bandit Flight Team.
