Many people may have covered Tim McGraw' heartfelt ballad "Humble and Kind" — from kindergarteners to Kelsea Ballerini — but this 12-year-old from the UK gives them all a run for their money.

The young boy, Jake, recently performed the song on The Voice Kids UK and wowed audiences with his authenticity and skill.

Jake turns the usually understated tune into a power ballad, making it meaningful in a whole new way. Accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, Jake’s emotion shows through as he articulates each phrase and belts each note, giving the song a style all his own but keeping all the genuine heart of the original. "Humble and Kind" has quickly become one of McGraw’s most beloved hits since its release on 2015's Damn Country Music. It garnered a Grammy Award for Best Country Song — going to the songwriter, Lori McKenna — and a CMA Award for Song of the Year in 2016. McGraw said he could barely get through recording the song without crying, knowing that his daughters are growing up and going away to college. The song became a kind of movement, encouraging the next generation to be the best they can be, soon becoming a book as well.

“It is a rare moment when a song comes along that speaks equally to the world and the individual,” McGraw said at the time. “A song that transcends. A song that reaches into the heart of everyone who hears it. ‘Humble and Kind’ is one of those songs.”
