The Gong Show
The Board of Directors of the West Texas Counseling and Guidance (formerly Samaritan Counseling Center) proudly present San Angelo’s 1st Annual Gong Show Fundraiser to be held thisThursday, October 11, 2012 at 6:30pm at The House of Fifi DuBois at 123 Chadbourne.
The Gong Show" is where irreverent and wacky acts are rewarded as often as more traditional fare. Judges are Police Chief Tim Vasquez, Derek Morrison, Sandy Rojas, Lauren Blackwell, and Mark Stitz.
Tickets are $10, available in advance at The House of FiFi Dubois or West Texas Counseling & Guidance, or at the door until SOLD OUT.
Each ticket purchase gets 10 votes to help choose the winning act. Confirmed acts include belly dancers, gymnasts, stand-up comedians, clowns, jugglers, singers, and musicians, a ukulele band, cloggers, modern dancers, ventriloquist, and a girl that makes sandwiches with her feet!
In addition, the Abell-Hanger Foundation of Midland will generously award a MATCHING GRANT that will match dollar-for-dollar up to $15,000.00 in donations to West Texas Counseling & Guidance from new Tom Green County donors, or increased donations from current Tom Green County donors.
Funds raised will help WTCG to continue providing quality therapeutic services to citizens of the Concho Valley who would otherwise not be able to access the support that quality therapy provides to change lives. Since opening their doors in 1976, the organization has served more than 65,000 men, women, and children in San Angelo and the surrounding area. As a community-based, nonprofit counseling agency, we are committed to meeting the mental health needs of ANY citizen who is seeking help, age 4 and up, with an emphasis on children and families. WTCG envisions a community where everyone has access to affordable and quality mental health counseling and they offer a full range of counseling services to support and promote personal growth, positive family relationships, and emotional well-being. Their Licensed Professional Counselors treat a range of issues— depression, substance abuse, anger management, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, eating disorders, coping with illness, couple’s therapy, and more.
