The San Angelo Downtown Kiwanis Club is hosting the 74th Little Olympics this Friday at San Angelo Stadium. More than 1,500 4th, 5th & 6th grade students representing 33 area elementary schools will be competing in six field and running events. The Top 5 finishers in each event will win medals. The opening ceremony will be at 3:45 with the a flag ceremony and parade of schools.

These students have been training for several months with the help of their school's physical education teachers. Each school enters their best athletes to compete in the long jump, flexed arm hang, bar chin, 60 & 75 yard dashes, and the 300 yard relay. Over 150 volunteers including Kiwanis members, friends, and San Angelo ISD employees are involved in organizing this event.

Admission is free, and concessions will be available. Seating will be on the West side of the stadium with the West and South concession stands open. Parents are requested to sit in the parent's area and not with the students. There is an area reserved for parents in front of the awards stand. Bring the family out to support the kids, and the Kiwanis in their efforts to change the world, one child and one community at a time.
