The Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and this month’s featured fugitive is wanted for murder, sexual assault of a child and possession of marijuana. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.

In February 2006, Alaniz was arrested for aggravated assault in San Antonio for allegedly stabbing a man during a fight, but Alaniz was able to make bail and subsequently fled. The victim later died as a result of his injuries, and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office issued an arrest warrant for murder in August 2006. Alaniz’s arrest warrant for sexual assault of a child stems from a 2006 incident in Zavala County.

Alaniz has ties to several Texas towns, including La Pryor (Zavala County), George West (Live Oak County) and Beaumont, as well as Veracruz, Mexico. His criminal history includes assault causing bodily injury, resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated. For more information and updates in the event of his arrest, see his wanted bulletin at:

Alaniz is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds; however, his appearance may have significantly changed (above photo is from 2006). He has tattoos on his left hand, legs, right arm and shoulder.

One offender from the Texas 10 Most Wanted Program is featured each month in hopes the higher reward money from the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division will generate additional tips. The higher reward amount will only be paid if the tip comes in the same month the fugitive is featured. All calls, texts, emails and Facebook tip messages are anonymous.

To be eligible for the cash rewards, there are four different ways to provide anonymous tips:
  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
  • Text the letters DPS – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
  • Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
  • Submit a Facebook tip at http://www.facebook.com/texas10mostwanted by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” link (under the “About” section).
