‘The Voice’ Hopeful Tanner Linford Covers ‘When You Say Nothing at All’ [Watch]
Teenager Tanner Linford is no stranger to auditioning for 'The Voice.' But it wasn't until his second attempt, however, that he got Blake Shelton to turn his chair around (just in the nick of time, too!).
During Tuesday night's (Sept. 30) Blind Auditions, Linford showed up to perform on 'The Voice' stage again. He previously auditioned for Season 6 of the show, offering a Rihanna ballad. This time, he went country, and it proved to be a smart move.
Linford covered the sweet 'When You Say Nothing at All' -- made famous by both Keith Whitley and Alison Krauss -- and it got Shelton's attention.
The hopeful was understandably shaky as he performed. His whole family was backstage with host Carson Daly, and they were on the edge of their seats, rooting for Shelton to turn his big red chair. As Linford hit his final notes Shelton hit his buzzer, spinning the famous chair.
"I know you!" Shelton told him, getting out of his chair and walking to high five his new team member. "I told you!"
Apparently, the country song hit the spot for Shelton, and the other judges reminisced about Linford's time on the show last season. He makes the seventh singer to join Team Blake so far this season. In Monday's Blind Auditions episode, Shelton added two other members in Bree Fondacaro and John Martin. See a full recap of that episode here.
