Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup is a True West Texas Experience

The snake handlers with the Sweetwater Rattleshake Roundup paid us a visit with some of their reptilian friends. Catfish might be a tad nervous in the above picture as the well known Texas rattlesnake hangs out in the corner of our studio. There is only a pair of boots to protect him from it. Honestly, everyone is a little nervous as this rattlesnake is not too happy being messed with early in the morning. Hey, that sounds like the entire office before the morning pot of coffee!

The Nolan County Coliseum in Sweetwater, Texas will be full of snakes, snake meat samples, and all things snake related this Friday through Sunday, March 13th - 15th. There will be guided snake hunts (if you're brave enough), bus tours, and, if you are really feeling it, snake handling shows where you can get up real close and personal with a rattlesnake. There's even a Miss Snake Charmer Pageant. It's the World's Largest Rattlesnake Roundup, and it's something you definitely should not miss.
