Summer Fun at the Gillespie County Fair

From Live Parimutuel Horse Racing to a Night In Old Fredericksburg, the Gillespie County Fair Association in Fredericksburg is planning an action-packed summer of fun for the whole family!

There are 4 big weekends of Parimutuel Horse Racing, with a festival, a fundraiser, Official Professional Bull Riding event, and the Oldest Continuous County Fair in Texas.

Parimutuel Horse Racing features exciting live horse racing at the Fairgrounds’ Class 3 track. Quarter horse and thoroughbred racing as well as special races, trials, and futurities.Gates open 11 a.m.; Post time 1:00 p.m

Night In Old Fredericksburg

A celebration of Fredericksburg’s German heritage, with polka music, German fun and games, cold drinks and hot food, and dancing under the stars!
3 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.

Aug 1:
Scholarship Fest features German food and drink, raffle and live auction to raise funds “to encourage, instruct, and promote the education of the youth of Gillespie County.”

Livestock Shows

Aug 20-23:
Gillespie County Fair weekend is a weekend of Texas Hill Country hospitality that the whole family will enjoy. Four days filled with great events–exciting carnival and midway, favorite fair food, livestock judging, agricultural and household exhibits, arts and crafts, antique tractor shows, and live pari-mutuel horse racing!

Sept 12:
6th Annual Professional Bull Riding (PBR).Watch 40 professional riders battle some of rodeo’s top bulls. 7:30 p.m.; Gates open 5:30 p.m.at the Gillespie County Fair Grounds
3 miles south of downtown Fredericksburg on Hwy 16.
