The recent two-steppin’ Silver Spur Ball attracted approximately 500 attendees, raised a record $42,200 for West Texas Rehabilitation Center and pushed cumulative revenues from the event past the $585,000 mark.
Generous supporters including Wells Fargo, Livestock Weekly, Ken Schlaudt Homes, West Central Wireless, Sam’s Club, Superior Services and Milford Engineering made it possible for ticket sales and auction proceeds to go directly to the WT Rehab Center for patient treatment operations.

Area businesses and individuals donated more than 130 silent auction items. The hand-pieced quilt was won by James Baker of Eldorado and the pistol winner was Ian Martinez.

Organized in 1991, the Silver Spur event is hosted by 20 volunteers who assist WTRC’s donor relations staff by selling tickets, soliciting auction items and setting up for the evening’s activities.

Since 1953, West Texas Rehab’s mission has been to improve the quality of life for every child and adult who seek its services – regardless of their financial circumstances. A private, non-profit organization, WTRC has outpatient rehabilitation facilities in Abilene, San Angelo and Ozona, and treats more than 500 patients daily.
