The Shannon Inpatient Rehabilitation Center is hosting an Open House, Friday, April 10, from 2 to 4 pm at their new location on the third floor of the Shannon St. John’s Campus, 2018 Pulliam.

Previously vacant, the 13,000 square-foot unit received a full makeover. Each of the 14 patient rooms is equipped with a brand new bed and furniture, a shower and a vanity area. A spacious therapy gym, fully-functioning kitchen, dining, laundry and bathing area are also part of the new unit.

The rehabilitation team includes: 24-hour rehabilitation nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, case management, social work and psychology. This acute rehabilitation inpatient program is dedicated to helping patients overcome functional limitations brought on by injury or illness such as strokes, amputations, brain injury, spinal cord injury, trauma, hip and knee replacement surgery, neurological disorders arthritis and other debilitating conditions.

“It’s an intensive rehab program, and we understand that rehabilitation relies heavily on human touch and a strong partnership between the patient and rehab team,” says Becky Ragan, Program Director for Inpatient Rehabilitation & Behavioral Services at Shannon. “Our personal approach helps us to work closely as a team and to know our patients individually, helping us to focus on both their physical rehab needs as well as their emotional well-being. Our goal for each patient is to reach the highest level of personal independence.”
