Shannon Medical Center is hosting two events this Thursday, October 16, as part of breast cancer awareness month.
The pink pARTy! will take place from 5-9 p.m. at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts in conjunction with the Downtown San Angelo Art Walk. Attendees are invited to enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres and learn about breast cancer prevention, detection and awareness from Shannon experts. Portraits of local breast cancer survivors taken by San Angelo photographers will be on display. Attendees will also have a chance to be a part of a collaborative art piece honoring a special woman in their life by brining any non-returnable item (no bigger than 15x15") that represents this person. The collected items will be combined into a permanent, public collage piece after the event.

The Shannon Oncology Center and the Regional Cancer Treatment Center will host an Open House from 5-9 p.m. at the Shannon Medical Plaza, 102 N. Magdalen. The Oncology Center’s treatment room and Garden of Hope will be open for the public to tour. The Regional Cancer Treatment Center will host an art gallery opening. The space was recently renovated with images donated by local photographers and will be open for viewing.

Shannon Medical Plaza will be a trolley stop for the Downtown Art Walk. Attendees may park at either location and ride the trolley, or you may drive and park at each location.

Both events are free and open to the public. For more information, please call (325) 657-5064 or visit www.shannonhealth.com.
