Saturday is Republic Services Night at San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Feb. 20, 2014) – Republic Services, Inc. today announced plans to celebrate San Angelo Veterans at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo during Republic Services Night this Saturday, February 22.
Republic is teaming up with Combat Veterans Outreach, San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo, and community leaders to celebrate local combat Veterans and their families by providing tickets through Combat Veterans Outreach.

“Republic is privileged to recognize San Angelo Veterans and the Combat Veterans Outreach for their service not only to our country, but the San Angelo community,” said Robert Searls, Municipal Services and Government Affairs Manager of Republic Services. “In honor of that commitment, Republic is donating 26 tickets to Combat Veterans Outreach to enjoy the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo on Saturday, February 22, Republic Services Night at the Rodeo. This acknowledgement of the men and women who protect our freedoms is an example of Republic’s commitment to San Angelo and it Veterans community,” Searls added.

“Wow, as a proud Veteran and member of the San Angelo community, thank you on behalf of the men and women who have served this great country,” said Bill Pride, Founder of Combat Veterans Outreach. “It does my heart good to see community partners like Republic Services recognize not only those of us from the armed forces, but the many other community organizations they support throughout the San Angelo community. I know my fellow Veterans and I will enjoy the rodeo and evening with some of this country’s finest cowboys,” Pride continued.

“The greatest cowboys and cowgirls along with the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association are pleased to join Republic Services in supporting Combat Veterans Outreach and inviting them to see the greatest cowboy and gal stock show and rodeo in the country,” said Tom Thompson, Marketing Coordinator for the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo Association.  “Recognizing Veterans who risked their lives for America and this community is something we as Americans need to do more often. I am personally honored to be here to welcome San Angelo’s Veterans to this year’s rodeo. And, I am grateful to Republic for the support, commitment and dedication to the Stock Show and Rodeo. They are truly a community partner,” Thompson added.

This donation to San Angelo’s Veterans is not the first commitment these folks have made with respect to the rodeo.
