San Angelo’s Most Unusual Street Name
I should know, because I live on this street.
Yes it's Threeawn Trail. I have to spell it out, T-H-R-E-E-A-W-N, nearly every time I'm ask for my address. That gets old quick. So, I decided to look into what this street name is all about.
What is Threeawn?
It is a perennial grass native to the sandy and clayey soil around south central Texas. For the most part, it has poor economic value for either wildlife or livestock. Some people might even mistake it for a weed.
"Now", as the late Paul Harvey would say, "You know the rest of the story".
