In the early days of the United States, most towns & cities had a general store. In most cases, the general store has gone the way of the horse & buggy, but not in San Angelo!

The first time I went in to Eggemeyer's General Store, I was amazed at the wide variety of items they had on display and for sale. I was looking for some Coca Cola memorabilia for my wife's Christmas presents, and was pleasantly surprised to see they had a good selection to choose from.

They have a gourmet kitchen emporium, lots of different candies, collectibles, dolls, toys, jewelry, gourmet tea and coffee, knives, Christmas ornaments, Honey Glazed Spiral Hams, pottery, bath products, baby gifts, music, and hundreds of other items.

This general store also has an in house soda fountain with homemade root beer, German Beers, wines, and special dips.

We all know someone who seems to have everything and is hard to buy gifts for, but I'm reasonably sure that you'll find something at Eggemeyer's  that will put a smile on their face!

Their building was built in 1911 and was a new car dealership many years ago.

Stop by Eggemeyer's at 35 East Concho or check them out at eggemeyers.com.
