Dr. Erin Ashworth-King, general editor of ASU’s Concho River Review, will speak this Tuesday to the San Angelo Writers’ Club.
An assistant professor of English at Angelo State University, Dr. Ashworth-King earned her doctorate at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and has been on the ASU faculty five years.  She will discuss the roles of literary journals in publishing work by emerging writers and give guidelines for submissions which may be short fiction, non-fiction or poetry.  ASU’s biannual literary journal published by the Department of English and Modern Languages was launched more than 26 years ago.

San Angelo Writers’ Club meets monthly on the second Tuesday at First Place, 14 E. Harris (across the street from First Baptist Church), at 6:30 PM.  Refreshments and networking are 6:30 to 7 with the speaker 7 to 8.  Everyone interested in writing is invited to come.  For more information, email sanangelowritersclub.gmail.com.  Dr. Ashworth-King was scheduled to speak in February when the club meeting cancelled due to ice.
