Stuck at work during your lunch break and craving food from your favorite San Angelo restaurant? Home from a long day and the restaurant you're craving doesn't deliver? Well, San Angelo To Go brings patrons the beef.

Getting a start in 2015 with the sole purpose to service the community of San Angelo. With over 100 orders a day, the delivery service has yet to slow. We talked with Preston Wimberly about San Angelo To Go and the services it offers.

How did you come up with the business idea?

A lot of places compliment our ability to run an efficient system

Cameron, Carson and I have been friends since 8th grade and we have always wanted to start something. We started with the idea of helping out the elderly retirement community with groceries and restaurant delivery. Then we refined down to just restaurants and just managed the growth from there.

What has the reaction restaurant owners been like since the start up?

At first, they were skeptical, but then gave us a chance and I think after 1000+ deliveries from most restaurants with minimal mistakes, the owners have come to enjoy our services. A lot of places compliment our ability to run an efficient system especially, because we are younger, and haven't taken a traditional path in the business community.

You mentioned expansion in the region, what is the expansion goal?

We are expanding under the name Menurunners and our end goal is to be able to service the state of Texas. Within the next couple years through acquisitions and new startups we will hit a goal. The industry is currently growing exponentially and we believe our model based on community engagement, customer service, and local decision makers will help us continue to be competitive even with some bigger companies like uber eats.

What advice do you have for people who want to start a business?

My biggest advice would be to ask yourself if you are ready to commit yourself to something a lot bigger than just you

Honestly, self-reflection and being honest with yourself. The difference between a job and owning a company is a company is 24/7. Especially with new business and the social/connected aspect of all new companies. My biggest advice would be to ask yourself if you are ready to commit yourself to something a lot bigger than just you and paying your bills. Because if/when you do start becoming more successful a lot of people's livelihood starts being affected by the business decisions you make. Once you do make the decision to take on the responsibly of a company don't just dip your toe, but dive head first and do everything in your ability to make it work because internal fear is probably one of the biggest obstacles.
