The San Angelo/Tom Green County Health Department has re-established its sexually transmitted disease clinic, offering testing three days a week.
Testing for STDs such as gonorrhea, Chlamydia, syphilis and HIV occurs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays by appointment only at the Health Department, 2030 Pulliam St., suite 9. To schedule an appointment, call (325) 657-4214 during business hours (8 a.m.-noon or 1 p.m.-5 p.m.).

The cost for the testing is $25. Treatment costs $10.

The STD clinic was eliminated in 2012 when a state policy change resulted in a funding loss. The City recently received a federal grant, administered through the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, to re-establish the clinic. The City is matching the federal grant with its nursing budget to fund the personnel who staff the STD clinic. Funding for lab testing and medications will be provided through the Texas Department of State Health Services.

For more information, call (325) 657-4214.
