San Angelo Recreation Division Hosts Youth Track Meet Saturday

The City of San Angelo’s Recreation Division will host its annual Texas Amateur Athletic Federation circuit track meet for children ages 6 to 18 this Saturday, June 21, at San Angelo Stadium.
Registration will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. and continue through 8:30 a.m. at the stadium, 1919 Knickerbocker Road. Events begin at 9 a.m.

Competitors may enter up to four events for a $5 fee. Field events will be high jump, long jump, discus, shotput and triple jump. Running events will be the 3200 meters, 50 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 80-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles, 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and the 1600 meters.

Entrance fees for spectators will be $3 for adults and $1 for children ages 6 to 11. Seniors and children younger than 6 will be admitted free of charge. Concessions will be available for sale at the meet.

The Recreation Division will host another circuit meet on July 12.

Youngsters who wish to compete in San Angelo’s regional meet on July 18 and 19 must register at TAAF.com by June 30.
