San Angelo Police Make Arrests

San Angelo Police have a busy evening with multiple arrests for drugs, alcohol,
and existing warrants.

About 11:45 Thursday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a gray 2008 Honda Passenger Car in the 600 block of West Avenue X.  Once the vehicle stopped, both driver and passenger exited the vehicle and became argumentative with the Officers.  They also disregarded several orders from the officers and continued to walk away.  Both were handcuffed for safety concerns during the traffic investigation.

After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, a K9 Team responded and K9 Vader entered the vehicle.  Vader showed an immediate alert to the center console.  Subsequent to Vader’s alert, Officers located a digital scale, commonly used in the distribution of illegal drugs, inside the car.  Officers also located a clear plastic bag near the vehicle’s driver-side door that contained suspected narcotics.  The bag’s contents field-tested positive for the presence of Methamphetamine.

The driver was identified as 33YO Diego Sanchez.  Sanchez was charged with Felony 2 Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The Passenger was identified as 19YO Surena Rojas.  Rojas was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Both were transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

Around 2:08 a.m., Officers responded to the Staybridge Suites, 1355 Knickerbocker, for the report of unwanted subjects.  Two subjects, 28YO Jacob Padilla and 31YO Javier Gonzalez Jr., were located.  Padilla was arrested for Public Intoxication and Gonzalez was arrested for Class C Criminal Mischief for tampering with property around the Hotel’s swimming pool area.

Around 3:42 a.m., an officer initiated a pedestrian stop near Monterrey and San Antonio Street.  Through a records search, the man was identified as 22YO Daniel Vela.  Vela was found to have outstanding Warrants out of Midland County.  Vela was arrested and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.

Around 6:13 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Avenue L for the report of an unknown problem.  Officers located a subject outside and identified him as 33YO Joseph Enriquez.  Enriquez was found to have outstanding Warrants.  Enriquez was arrested and transported to the Tom Green County Jail.
