In 1936, Sergei Prokofiev was commissioned by the Central Children's Theatre in Moscow to write a new musical symphony for children. The resulting work, Peter and the Wolf, is the story of a brave Russian boy who cleverly captures a wolf in the forest near his home.  The slightly unexpected fate of the wolf and a duck add an interesting twist to the story’s ending.

The ballet performance is suitable for all ages. Tickets are $5 and are available at the San Angelo Civic Ballet office, 15 W. Beauregard, and at the door.  Summer hours for the ballet office are 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Registration has begun for the July intensive session, July 2-27, at the San Angelo Civic Ballet.  Classes will be offered for Creative Movement through Level 4.  For additional information, please visit or call the SACB office at 653-8877.
