Sonrisas offers therapeutic horseback riding to those with physical, mental, and emotional challenges through a carefully structured program of equine activities.

Sonrisas does not charge for their services. They are the only local therapeutic riding center that does not charge, and one of the few centers in Texas and nationally that does not charge for services. They serve over 75 riders each session with emotional, physical, and/or mental challenges. All of the riders are challenged; they are the only local therapeutic riding center with this sole population. The riders have a myriad of challenges, including sight and/or hearing impairments, ADD, ADHD, Spina bifida, speech-language delay, MS, Lou Gherig's Disease, MD, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, emotional and behavioral disorders, and intellectual disabilities.

You're invited to come out for the 26th Sonrisas Ride-A-Thon this Saturday at the Johnson Ranch near Bronte. There's a catered lunch, drawing for a Jey's Custom Western Saddle and more.

Megan Kirkwood has registration information, entry forms, and more, just call her at 325-949-4837.
