The event is free to the public. Doors open both Saturday and Sunday at 9AM. The event ends at 9 pm Saturday and 5pm Sunday.

Pilots from a 3 state area will be bringing their model planes to fly at the event. Over 300 planes are expected. Many Pilots will participate in an annual  crowd pleaser, the Balloon Bust. Six groups of Helium filled balloons will be tied three or four balloons to a string up to 30 feet high and upon signal from the announcer pilots will fly their planes into the balloons trying to pop each one with the prop of the plane.  This leads to lots of fast and funny action with the audience cheering each of their favorite plane on. The planes often get tangled with the ribbon and challenge the skill of the pilots to keep the plane flying. The  plane to pop the last balloon wins.   .

Another event that is a crowd pleaser is Last Plane in the Air. Up to 30 planes will take off and try to avoid being knocked out of the air by another plane or mistake of the pilot. This is done while each pilot tries to preserve the battery power of their plane. The last plane flying will be declared this years winner.

Club members this year have put together  kits of gliders that will be given away to all kids until the supply runs out. Volunteers will be available to help each child put their glider together then time will be set aside for the children to test out their creations. Volunteers will also have a flight simulator available in the audience area to let spectators try their hand in flying a radio control plane on the simulator's screen.

The public and pilots will have the opportunity to win some of over $500 of radio control plane related prizes in this years raffle. You do not need to be present to win the prizes which will given away Sunday afternoon at a 2 pm drawing. One of the winners of a plane last year had never flown before and now has become very proficient in the hobby thanks to help and training by club members.

At 7PM Saturday evening pilots will put on a demonstration of aerobatic flying. Each pilot will have an allotted time in which he will have to fly certain maneuvers in a routine set to music of their choice.

Concessions will be open in the coliseum allowing people to stay and enjoy the flying right through lunch on each day.
